Works Systems, Inc. releases OneAgent TR Version 4.0

SAN JOSE, California, August 15, 2008. Works Systems, Inc. today announce the release of its OpenAgent TR version 4.0, a TR-069 embedded embedded client software stack for Customer Premises Equipment (CPE). The new version further enhances Works Systems TR-069 agent by significant improvement over previous versions both in terms of functionality as well as code size, resource and memory usage.

On the feature side the Works Systems OneAgent TR now includes the support for the TR-069 amendment 2, TR-106 and even incorporates a STUN client for manahgement of devices behind NAT in accordance with TR-111. Operating system support has been expanded, and currently, versions are available for Linux, WinCE and VxWorks platforms.

As with previous version, the Works Systems OneAgent TR version 4.0 is licensed with complete set of documentation, implementation examples for devices such as TR-135 Set Top Boxes, TR-140 Storage Units or any other TR-069/TR-106 derived data model as well as full source code.

The agent footprint and resource requirements in terms of flash, memory and threads of the agent has been significantly reduced, which will accomodate for lower production costs in TR-069 enabled CPE and implementation in low-resource platforms, enabling potential TR-069 capability to even more devices and types than ever seen previously.

Works Systems' OneAgent TR 4.0 is provided as a C-based software stack, which is available in versions for Linux, WinCE and VxWorks. By using an Application Programming Interface (API) using XML configuration files, it has been designed to provide easy integration into existing environments and provide an easy, yet highly extensible and secure TR-069 communications stack. This provides CPE vendors with quick and cost-effective means to deploy a TR-069 enabled device with flexible feature support.
